Ports (be it airport or seaport) are the engines of the economy. Ports are large and complex business communities consisting of numerous organizations. Al these organizations tend to focus on their own internal efficiency. We believe that the biggest decrease in costs can be realized from a community perspective: we see a port as one community in which individual companies have to collaborate in the most efficient way.
For Zeeland Seaports and Schiphol we designed a port business model on the operational information exchange between organizations across the entire supply chain. The business model provides insight in creating new opportunities for cost savings across the board.
