Our name Ab Ovo originates from the Latin phrase: “Ab Ovo usque ad mala” literary meaning "from the egg to the apple", which was used by the Romans to indicate that the meal was complete. Traditional meals always started with an egg and ended with an apple. This is how we want to be involved with our clients: from the beginning to the end, completely.
Founded in 1997 our background lies in the logistics market. Over the years we have found that our knowledge of logistical processes is also valuable to organizations in other markets. Our key markets are rail and education. In addition we also do work for organizations in (local) government, trading, retail, services and industry. We believe that ICT should support the business and not the other way around. To fully support this vision it is essential that we have a thorough knowledge of our customers' business and processes. All our consultants have a proven track record in the markets in which they operate.
Some 65 dedicated professionals currently work for Ab Ovo. About half of our staff are consultants (General / Business Consultants and Project Managers). The other half are specialists in the areas of Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and TET (in-house MDA development tool). We have offices in the Netherlands (Rotterdam and Amsterdam) and Germany (Cologne).
